When we first moved to Winchester we heard from many people about the firetruck parade so we've been waiting a few months to enjoy it. A few weekends ago it was the big Apple Blossom festival which included the famous parade. We ended up buying tickets so we could have seats since we heard it was a couple hours long. Which was a great idea because we had front row seats that were reserved so we just had to show up and enjoy!
The morning of the parade my friend texted and let me know that most of the firetrucks were at a local high school that you could go look at, climb on and take pictures of. So we headed on over!
This specific firetruck is famous.... they had a scrapbook that you could look through that showed all the movie sets its been on and all the famous people who have been near it!
They had old and new and everything in between. It was a lot of fun to see them all. Quite a few were out of state as well. The farthest one we saw was from Montana.
Met up with some friends to look at the firetrucks, little boy heaven!
Waiting for the parade to begin.... eating dinner and just as content as can be.
Who doesn't love a good pipe and drum band?? Awesome! Plus many school bands came by which William loved.... he then started dancing and practicing his drums on the chair next to me.
Giving thumbs up to the firetrucks he liked.....
None other that DJ Tanner..... we were pretty excited to see her drive by! Her daughter was in the car in front of her for winning Queen of something.
Chic-fil-A cows.
It was an awesome 3 hour parade.... the last couple of firetrucks put on the full show of sirens and horns..... SO LOUD! Glad they didn't all do that, or we would be deaf today. Besides the 20 min when the heavens let loose and poured rain it was a great time. Luckily I brought a umbrella or else we would have been drenched.... we got pretty wet even with the umbrella!!
