We left my sister's house and continued East.....driving through Kansas City and entering Missouri. We only drove 4 or so hours this day because we were trying to get ahead of the storm that was coming. SO glad we did, we stayed the night in Colombia Missouri.
Crossing the Mississippi and entering Illinois
Not a good picture going into Indiana.... but it was the best we could do. It rained ALL day long.
And we stayed the night in Indianapolis where Dale flew in and joined us for the rest of the move!
The next day we started the day by entering Ohio.
Briefly drove through West Virginia
Into Pennsylvania
Back into West Virginia
Drove through Maryland a little bit
We then drove back into West Virginia for the 3rd time in one day and finally we made it to VIRGINIA!!!!! We only live about 10 or so miles from the border so by this time we were close!
We didn't do much that night besides getting a few blankets, pillows and the air mattress out. The next morning and all day we unpacked the truck and started unpacking. Good timing because the day after that we woke up to about 4 inches of snow..... (we miss California winters already!)
Our cute house we're renting! We can't wait for warmer weather so we can really use our backyard! Although our few snow days have been fun.
My parents stayed for a few days to help unpack and get us settled. We are so thankful for all their help especially since they were both SOOOO sick. We couldn't have done it without them. We did venture out to see Old Town Winchester. It was bitterly cold though so we didn't last long. I'm shivering just thinking about how cold it was. Winchester has a ton of history and a lot of charm. We can't wait to start exploring!
George Washington statue and cannon that he used.
Will and Dale stayed home since it was so cold, and Will helped make us hot cocoa when we got home!
We just had an awesome cross country adventure. One of the best parts of the 3100 or so miles was playing the license plate game, I saw ALL 50 states! I started getting a little nervous but finally found Hawaii in none other that West Virginia, whew! It's possible and was fun to actually say that I've completed that game.
We are here in Virginia, settled and ready to start our new adventure!!!
