CR- Volcán Poaz

We woke up early and drove about 1 hour up windy roads and thru small towns to get to Volcan Poaz

I had read that you had to get there early to have a small chance of actually seeing the Volcano, it typically is covered in clouds and its hard to catch and actually see it. I think we were really lucky because we had about 15 min where we could actually see it! The clouds would roll off and on and it was amazing to watch it disappear and then reappear. The blue of the water is incredible because of the acid and it was really pretty.

The leaves are SO giant and amazing!

We were lucky it was a sunny day because it was so dark walking thru the vined forest trail. The pictures don't do it justice because it was dark and had it been cloudy, we would have need flashlights!
We hiked up to a Lake Botos- and were so out of breath due to the elevation!

La Paz waterfall! Gorgeous!!

Stopped for an authentic Costa Rican breakfast, it was okay.... But the gardens and flowers were amazing!

We tried to go on a chocolate tour but missed the last one, this guide was so amazing and ended up taking us on a mini tour, it was short but amazing! He walked us around the grounds which were so beautiful and we were able to taste test chocolate and how they make it. SO fun! The rest of the day we saw dozens of semi's trucks loaded with cacao pods driving around.
The 2 pictures below are pink bananas that the birds eat, so cute and small, and the other one is SO soft and velvety

We drove so many back roads and saw lots of houses and small villages

That water is so pretty! Everything is just so beautiful actually. Not what we're used to for sure!
