New England Vacation- Maine

Maine is a beautiful state. One that I would love to go back and explore more!

We started the day by driving around exploring the streets of Portland.

We found this amazing park that overlook the water. It was dreamy and we had such a fun time letting the kids play and enjoying the views. Then Dale came up with the idea that it might be fun to try and take a ferry out to one of the islands. So we started researching and found a ferry leaving soon. So we scrambled down to the dock.

We jumped on the ferry, which the kids loved and we loved because it was SO beautiful seeing the city and all the surrounding islands. Such an amazing place!

Once we landed at Peaks Island we didn't really have a plan. But we knew we didn't want to walk so we found a golf cart to rent!!! Ended up being the best idea ever.

They handed us a map of the island with spots to stop and see and off we went.

There was a rock beach on the island that literally had hundreds of rock towers built by tourists and locals. It was amazing!! We tried building some, but it was hard. Not sure how they balanced some that were standing! Incredible.

A little further down the road we stopped and went for a small hike to find an old WWII bunker. It was slightly creepy (I wouldn't want to be there at night) but really cool to see.

With a little ice-cream cone at the end, the island was totally worth it. Spontaneous and amazing memories. Back on the ferry to Portland.

Then we spent the afternoon exploring and trying to find some lighthouses

Kennebunkport, Maine

Will recently learned about the Statue of Liberty and was teaching Addison how she holds her arms.

Such a fun, relaxing but adventurous day.
